*=GPUS recognized candidate
The mission of the Green Party is to organize the working-class majority and all people who love peace, justice, freedom, and the environment into a major party and force in American politics.
The purpose of the Green Party is organize in social movements and election campaigns to transform society toward the realization of the Four Pillars of Green Politics: grassroots democracy, social and economic justice, world peace, and ecological sustainability.
To live up to our 4 pillars, Democracy, Social Justice, Ecology, Peace. We are somewhat living them
currently or heading toward that, during this CoronaVirus Crisis, or at least the Virus is helping
Trump to move to the Green side.
Democracy is a form of government in which the people exercise the authority of government. Who
people are and how authority is shared among them are core issues for democratic development
and constitution. Wikipedia Me: Ok, we are being a little dictated too right now but we know its best.
Social justice is a concept of fair and just relations between the individual and society, as measured
by the distribution of wealth, opportunities for personal activity, and social privileges. Wikipedia
Me: A level playing field has been created due to the restrictions, and people are working together.
Ecology is a branch of biology concerning interactions among organisms and their biophysical
environment, which includes both biotic and abiotic components. Wikipedia Me: We have stopped
the machine, the EARTH is healing and ALL her creatures.
Peace is a concept of societal friendship and harmony in the absence of hostility and violence. In a
social sense, peace is commonly used to mean a lack of conflict and freedom from fear of violence
between individuals or groups. Wikipedia Me: Currently, I feel lots of Tranquility and PEACE
between humans and the planet including all its inhabitants, big and small. ...You too?
Green Party Pillars matter
The Green Party stands as a testament to the value of putting people and planet over profit – a core of committed Americans from all walks of life, united by the common goal to protect the planet for future generations of living beings and to ensure fundamental fairness and equal opportunities for all of humanity. What sets us apart is that we exist unspoiled by corporate money and influence, uniquely able to maintain our focus on our values and the best interests of the planet. We are not merely an alternative or an 'option.' As Rosa Clemente put it “we are the imperative,” especially in the face of a looming climate change catastrophe and a medical crisis exacerbated by capitalist excess and ineffective governance.
Though grassroots activism, political campaigns and community organizing, we match our values and our words with strong actions to save the planet (e.g. fighting fracking, for an end to fossil fuel extraction and use) while also standing up for everyday Americans to fight the injustices they face – be they racial, social, economic or environmental.
Part of the role of the Green Party in the post-Trump America that we envision is to ensure that voters don’t ever again feel forced to make a choice for 'the lesser of two evils.' By focusing on fixing the democratic deficit - including proportional representation, ranked choice voting, an end to the corporate stranglehold on politics, free and open debates and public financing - we’ll advocate for real choices for all Americans and for all offices, not just for President. In a truly free contest of ideas, free of corporate influence, Americans will be able to finally get the democratic representation they deserve.
The two party duopoly – the Democrats and Republicans - are corporately owned. Their mission and purpose is to bring profit to the one percent of America that owns them. We stand in contrast as a true voice for all of America - to ensure a fairer and greener America without exception.
